Today the Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation recognize the Distance Education and Training Council as the only accrediting organization for distance learning institutions and all of the education programs that offer online degrees. There are many advantages to online learning or e-learning. And make sure you know that your online degree credits will be transferable into the college or university you plan to attend if you plan to transfer in the future; check and double-check with the counselor at that school.
