Mississippi Home Mortgage Loans — How to Find the Best Broker for You
Mississippi was one of the states that were badly affected in 2005 by Hurricane Katrina. However, while the entire state of Mississippi was eligible for federal emergency relief assistance, only the lower half of the state was badly damaged as a result of the natural disaster. Currently, average interest rates in Mississippi are above the national average, and many people have begun obtaining adjustable-rate and other unconventional mortgage loans in order to battle the rising interest costs.
Finding the Best Mississippi Mortgage Broker
When looking for a mortgage broker in Mississippi, there are a few things that you need to consider. This article addresses the three things you need to look for in a Mississippi home mortgage loan broker:
Character
Your mortgage broker should be willing to go above and beyond in order to make sure that you are getting a great deal on your home loan and that the process goes as smoothly as possible. When he needs a last minute letter from one of your creditors in order for you to close as scheduled the next day, he should be willing to obtain the letter himself rather than forcing you to take time off of work in order to retrieve the letter from the creditors office.
Reputation
Your mortgage broker should have a consistent history of satisfied clients. In fact, if you ask for it, your broker should be able to provide to you referral names of clients hes worked with in the past. Additionally, your broker should not have any legitimate complaints filed on him through the Better Business Bureau.
Dedication
If you are never able to get a hold of your broker when you need to ask him a question, chances are hes not going to be a dedicated broker. Having a dedicated mortgage broker is important because only a dedicated mortgage broker can take the time in order to find you the best deal possible. After all, youre paying your broker to do the work youre unable to. If he is simply going to offer you the first mortgage that youre approved for, youre better off just saving the broker fees and choosing a mortgage company yourself.
